We are able to harvest about any crop grown in the midwest. We have ALL NEW John Deere STS combines with the following equipment.

Our combines all have GREENSTAR guidance systems, Yield Mapping, straddle duals and fine cut straw choppers.

When we get into a job with requirements for more tucks, we hire them from outside sources.

We do a variety of crops such as wheat, oats, barley, durum, spring wheat, field peas, flax, wet corn, soybeans, dry corn, milo, and sunflowers.

We do take a lot of pride in our work. We have a commercial air compressor we use to clean our combines and equipment when dealing with seed crops and also when we move from one job to another. We realize that problem weeds happen and we strive not to spread them.

Our seasonal crew usually starts in the first week of April and are trained in safety and machine operation, and have commercial drivers licenses. We feel that this additional time sends a better crew to the field.

Our year round crew spends the off season overhauling our equipment and reconditioning combines for customers. They also train the new hires and prepare them for the harvest season.

We are fully insured with both workers comp, general liability, and cargo insurance in order to not only protect us but also our customers.

JKD Harvesting is a Premier Custom Harvesting Business based in Colby, KS. Colby is located on Interstate 70 in Northwest KS. We are 400 miles west of Kansas City and 240 miles east of Denver. Colby is a community of approximately 6000 people.

The area called the High Plains is an intensive farming area, home of Western Kansas irrigation, feed lots, hog operations, Ethanol plants as well as sunflower processing plants both for oil and confectionery purposes.

We started this business in 1971 and have grown from a one combine operation to several STS John Deere combines with a variety of headers for each combine, grain carts and trucks are to match the capacity of our combines and the needs of our customers.

JKD is owned by Jim & DeAnn Deibert who manage this operation. Harvest is our only enterprise, so we can give 100% to harvesting. We harvest from May through December and the off-season is spent refurbishing our equipment.

We take pride in the fact that many of our jobs have been customers for more than 20 years and as long as 39 years. We rely on our customers to raise good crops, and they rely on us to bring good people and equipment to harvest them.

Our wheat harvest begins around May 20 in North Central Texas and ends in North Dakota about September 1 when we go back to Texas to harvest high moisture corn then back to Colby to finish our fall harvest, usually in the second week of November. During this time we will harvest about 30,000 acres of wheat and 15,000 acres of fall crops.
